Just a heads up on the shooting weekend that is before you, it starts off Saturday with COLD SHOT, a carbine match in Fort Lauderdale followed on Sunday by the only true SubMachine Gun match in the state of Florida. Details below:
COLD SHOT
This match is designed to test your ability to accurately engage targets at 50 to 100 yards from a variety of shooting positions with an AR or AK type rifle in 5.56mm, 6.8 Remington SPC and Russian 7.62 X 39.
SAFETY: Eye and ear protection is required prior to exiting your vehicle.
SAFETY AREA: The safety area bench set up just to the left of the shooting line.
· Bring your rifle to the range fully encased in a gun bag.
· Place the bag onto the “Safety Bench” with the muzzle pointed downrange.
· Remove the rifle from the case, keeping the muzzle pointed down range.
· Place a chamber flag into the open chamber of the rifle.
· You may now enter the firing line holding the rifle muzzle up.
· Place the rifle in the rifle racks behind the firing line until you are called to the firing line to shoot a stage in the competition.
· NEVER REMOVE THE CHAMBER FLAG FROM THE FIREARM UNLESS YOU ARE AT THE FIRING LINE, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A RANGE OFFICER, AND YOUR FIREARM IS POINTED DOWN RANGE.
Unsafe firearm handling will result in DQ (disqualification) from the match and forfeiture of match fees.
MUZZLE UP! CHAMBER FLAG!
Hits on target upright supports are misses. Steel core or armor piercing ammo is forbidden. Shooting over the downrange berm is forbidden.
Match Director’s decisions are final.
