I got my 10FP back from having it chopped and the Blackout adaptor added. My form 4 should be here next week from what the examiner told me... so now I'm looking for some subsonic ammo that will maintain 1MOA or less. I plan on culling some pigs from 100-200yds. Anyone have experience with this type load?

I ran EBR 7.62 sub sonics in my DPMS SASS. It would not group well past 75-85 yards. Barrel was 1/10 twist.

What wt bullet did they have? Was that with or with out the suppressor?

180 grain.  But it was ghost fart silent though.

Perhaps  a sub load in like a 200 grn SP would have worked better.  Did they cycle your action ?

Well, these were factory loaded subsonics.  So I was trying to get an availble load that I didn't have to load myself.  

OP, I'm assuming you are going to roll your own.  10FP's have 1/10 twist barrels correct?  That should be fast enough twist to stabilize the heavier bullets.

I will at some point in the near future... I'm wanting a few boxes of factory load until then. Yeah... The 10FP is a 1/10. What I'm HOPING, is to get far enough away and silent enough not to scatter them when I drop the 1st pig. Maybe I can get a 2nd or even 3rd crack at 'em! I was on TTI's site... but haven't looked where I can buy them yet.

I was looking for factory stuff too back when I had the SASS.  I only found two that had high quality so to speak ammo.  TTI and EBR.  TTI I could never find.  EBR has a few retailers.  The only expierience I have with subsonics in the .308 come from what I had with my SASS, using EBR ammo.  I was using a YHM Phantom .308 can.  it was very quiet.  But never gave me the performace I wanted, which was out to 100yds MOA.  Best I got was minute of target.  But that could have been my barrel not being concentric, so I just don't know.  I have a 12 rounds left of EBR I could send you for testng.

Maybe out of a bolt gun you may have better results.

If you feel like loading your own, Sierra has subsonic loads in their database. All you need to do is call them. For all the qty. you want to load an inexpensive Lee setup will serve you fine.

Can't help you with factory, but....

Best 308 subsonic I use is 200g RN lead gas checked from Oregon Trail (Midway).  Make sure you use the GC versions.  Use either 7.5g of TiteGroup or 7.6g of Clays.  (Careful of Clays –– will go supersonic with just a tad more powder.)

I use these is a Remington 700 LTR and a DPMS with a 20" barrel.  They will NOT function the DPMS; I single-shot it.

Both rifles keep MOA at 87 yards, but open up to about 2.5-3.5"  at 200 yards.  Zeroed at 87 yards, they drop a good bit at 200 –– not sure but seem to recall about 4" of drop.  

The loads work well on pigs, mushrooming a good bit, but not spectacular at anything up to150 yards.  Longest shot I ever took was a bit over 250 and it was atypical, hitting just behind the left ear as the pig was quartering away. (If you assume I was shooting 6 O'clock to 12, the pig was angled about 5 to 11.)   Hit a lot of bone and deformed a good bit.

I am no ballistic expert but will a subsonic .308 have enough energy for a hog at 100 yards and beyond?

From the charts I'm reading it has near the same energy (332 ft/lbs) @ 100yds as a .45 230gr JHP at 25yds (387 ft/lbs)... So I'm thinking yes.

I'd think you'd be ok with well-placed headshots.  As you point out, a 180-200 gr. pill at 900-950 fps (I'm guessing you'll be getting at least that at 100 yds, given a 1000-1050 muzzle velocity) is comparable to a .40 or .45 at typical pistol ranges.
