Ah man! I see that 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th all went to Gun Gallery employees, a lot of customers aqre up in the top half too! MAkes me smile. Wish I were out there, we could have taken top 5!

I did come in 6th in the 1st COF, but I had to leave before I could shoot the second one. So - I pulled a 18th or 19th . . .maybe even 20th spot . . . in any case I'm DQ'd.

Yeah, I liked it. I was told there wasn't a 2nd COF, so I took off about 25 people in. Wish I would have known, I would have stayed for the rest of it. My old man says he'll be back to shoot next month.

I'm open to suggestions on how to speed things up without sacrificing the COF's. I think one thing we could do is have the RO's buddy up. As one is running someone threw the other is getting the next shooter set up. As soon as the currant RO calls the range clear the other RO can give the command "load and make ready" and run the next person threw. When that team gets tired the next two RO's take over. I think this could easily save 2 minutes per shooter. Save a hour or two over the course of the day. Also, we will almost always have two COF. If you stick around long enough to help clean up you will know that you didn't miss a COF. If you stick around you will also learn the location of the supper secret FDCC bat cave were we eat, drink, and piss off waitresses.

That sounds like a great idea Rob.
Also we just have to hustle more - I found that when I did that I felt like people were a bit happier. Also at the start of the day maybe we need to be clear about what an RSO/RO is. We had a lot of folks walking with us during the RSO/RO brief that thought they needed to be there. When you give the safety brief I will volunteer to demonstrate to everyone the do's and don't as you say them. Same goes for the course of fire. Only reason is I got folks asking me what's going on after they load and make ready. Maybe this would help save time throughout the day but will not add anytime up front since you're already doing it and I'm just demonstrating? Again your teaming up idea rocks as well. And the facial recognition was a sweet idea too. Lasty, The Junk Cooler is freakin hilarious. |
