Last Friday was just too gorgeous a day to ............WORK.!!!!!! So we took the boat out for a day.......
    I did get a bad sunburn on my neck and arms though. that'll teach me. |

whats that in the first pic.....looks really big.....I'd call it a jewfish, but i don't know too much about salt water.

Man, I'm jealous! The day up in Brevard SUCKED and the ocean was blown out (5' seas); in other words a perfect work day.

Thanks all, yes, it was a fun day. You are correct, it was a Jewfish/Goliath Grouper. They are protected, so the pic was taken, and immediately released. It had several other hooks lodged in it's mouth when we caught it. Several were from us i think, as we had several pull offs earlier. The shark was taken back and fillet's were made. Got lots of good steaks cut off of him. Need to make an ARFCOM fishing trip here soon. Anyone game?????

buddy, an ARFCOM fishing trip sounds great, but frankly I'm terrified to drive over to that side of the state again...the Road Trip Gods hate me, I think.

All 50 States' ARFCOMMERS are welcome in my boat anytime. I might need a bigger boat though. 
You just need to drive an American made vehicle over and you'll be fine, Ben. hahaha |

Eh, We go after the big stuff down here. A normal trip out for us is about 60-70 miles out past Boca Grande. Average round trip is about 170 miles by the GPS. Average depth of 65-85 feet. Sharks, Grouper, Cuda, Amberjack, and the like are our normal catch. |
