It's time to start planning again for another monthly "Informal Shoot" for ARFCOM Members and any other interested parties.  Planning this far ahead allows us to plan our schedules accordingly and to allow more ppl time to consider coming.  The last shoot, though wet and me being "on call", was a lot of fun and those who came had a blast.  There were Class III's, Sub's, Wings, Chips, Drinks, Gun Shot Residue, and plenty of rain to go around.  This will be our 5th "Organized Informal".  Below you will find all the information you will need to plan ahead for this fun activity.  Hope to see you there!
----------

When
Sunday, August 21st, 9:00 AM

Where (see directions below)
Babcock/Webb Wildlife Management Area Shooting Range
29200 Tucker Grade Road
Punta Gorda, FL 33955.
Phone: 941-575-5768

Cost (per person)
$3.00 per person at the unattended entrance (there's a yellow post)
----------

Maps and Directions

.

.

From North
Head south on I-75 to Exit 158 (Tucker Grade)
Turn left on Tucker Grade and drive straight and you will drive right into the park.

From South
Head north on I-75 to Exit 158 (Tucker Grade)
Turn right on Tucker Grade and drive straight and you will drive right into the park.

Directions To the Range
Stop at the Entrance (sign and Yellow Post to your right)
After paying the park entrance fee, continue straight on the dirt road.
About 1/2 mile down the dirt road, you will see the Ranges on the left.

When pulling into the Ranges, you will see three (3) ranges.  The first one is the long range, second is the Pistol and Rifle Range, and the very end will be the Shotgun Range.  We will be gathered and shooting at the second range for pistols and rifles.
--------------------

During our last shoot, Hurricane Dennis was just off the coast which brought sporadic downpours, but the day was fun nonetheless.  Hopefully the weather is better next time around, or should it rain again to allow another empty range?    We'll see...  If this date conflicts w/ any of you, please let me know and we'll plan accordingly to what everyone else thinks.  Any additional ideas to add to the fun this time around is welcome.

Video of the last Informal.

See You All There!!!

guys i don't think i'll be making the shoot.... I had a blood test done for lead this week due to a thread in the clubhouse. My levels came back at 49. Which is ten points ABOVE OSHA maxium level. So in short i have  lead poisoning. I'm going to a hemotologist on monday to start treatment. I know he will recomend me to stay away from any source of lead during the treatment. I'll keep you guys posted.

Well actually... I think he would prefer a nice Norwegian baby swiss, possibly a Jarlsberg.

Did you know that Jarlsberg was first produced in 1815 and has long since become Norway's most famous cheese and a household name here in America.
