Here are some of the pics that I took at todays shoot. FL-AR15 should have some more posted at www.fdcc.us once he gets the others from new-arguys camera. These will be up temporarily until then.
It was very cold today, rainy this morning but it did seem to warm up slightly and the sun finally came out. Todays high may have been 44degrees and very windy. Our usual steel targets and semi-elaborate COF's were not available so we took it back Old School.... yea! We rocked it old school today with regular targets, running weapon manipulation drills etc. It was more fun than it was cold, so you guys who decided not to come missed a good time. Thanks for taking the pics Ron, I have just a few more, and JohnT has some he will need to have developed.

Man, it was coooold out there! Great fun with the old school shoot. Thanks for the pics Ron. Some of you guys missed a great time.
I would really like to rag on the no-shows, but I missed the hurricane shoot myself!

Damn work sucks... but I did get an hour or so of range time in afterwards. You get stange looks when you shoot an AR15 in dress pants,and a shirt and tie...

Please look at the scores and take note that her and her A4 ROCKED the end of match shoot out, stomping everyone in her way... myself included. For those who were not there, end of match shoot out this time around consisted of hitting two clay pigeons at about 45 yards. First one to hit both clays moves on to the next level. Well, Mrs Bad Ass and her A4 did not miss a single shot in all four heats she was in. I was doing as well for the first three heats, but when I came up against her, I threw my second shot and by the time I made it up with the third, she had hit her second with the second shot. She came last month to watch, she came this month to kick butt.  And yes, in case you were wondering, here is a pic of me getting stomped.

Its a Specer Gear M1 MK1 chest harness. It will hold three 30 round mags comfortably, but you can stuff 2 in each pouch for 6 mags if you choose. There are also slots on the side of the rifle pouches to add other pouches. I have added a single pistol mag pouch to either side. There's room to add another pouch on either side as well, but I decided against it. What I like about this carrier over others is that it is very low profile, it is not bulky at all. 3 extra mags is all I could ever imagine wanting.
However, as much as I like this chest carrier, Specter Gear came out with the M1 MK2 carrier this year and I just ordered one of those. Its very much the same as this but there is more room on the sides to add pouches. So I may be selling this one for a good deal. I dont know yet, I may keep both. Oh, and mine might look different than others you see and the ones on the www site because I tuck the top flaps and velcro inside the pouch for faster access. This is the first time I tried this and they stayed in fairly well unless I really leaned over and had the mags go upsidedown. I may try somethingelse to have the stuff in even more securely. I like open top carriers better. |

Thats exactly the same one I won at the shoot in November... I like it ... I added some pistol pouches on one side and a Tactical Tailor Large GP pouch on the other for a "Dump" pouch. It is a low profile system.. I like it. I recently got a SOTech hellcat.. it is Really nice.. a little bulkier but it fills a different requirement. I can hold 12 mags 4 pistol mags and a dump pouch comfortably... I used my Specter rig at Russ Adlers 3 gun and it was a life saver.... Good gear and good folks too.. Jeff Orchard thinks highly of FDCC. |

dvr9, we shoot at the Lake City public range the last sunday of every month. the match starts at 1:00. check out the club website at www.fdcc.us anyone who can observe common gun safety rules is welcome to participate. oh, bring eye protection, cyoung might show up

What can I say, I am safety conscious!
I was at a match at Gateway Rifle and Pistol club when a .22 LR projectile ricocheted from about 3 ranges over, arced over the berm, and pegged me right in the right ear lobe! It had enough speed and sharp edges to break the skin. A few inches to the left and I would have to change my handle to 'one-eye.' I am thrilled to death to see FDCC doing well and getting people involved in the shooting sports, but let's do us all a favor, and keep it safe as possible! Btw, how well does the guy with the Kel Tec carbine typically do? I was toying with brining up my Ruger PC9 for a match sometime. |

cyoung: If I remember correctly, the guy with the Kel Tec has repeatedly schooled some of us carbine guys on a regular basis, proving again that it is not the equipment, but the shooter behind it that gets results. Man, we don't EVEN want to talk about Dave and that damn fold 'em up hinged rifle. He has won more than a few cof's and a shootoff or two with that thing. Kinda a sore spot with some folks!  |

I neglected to wear my eyepro on my first run, after I shot and realized I did not have them on, I put them on for the rest of the day. That being said, when folks dont wear eyepro, I usually mention to them that its a good idea to have them on and give an example or two. If after that they wear eyes, Im glad for them and feel better. If not, then Im not sweating it either.
I've seen enough incidents where eye pro has done its job and its why I wear them, but I admit to having been careless and forgetting. I've also been around enough people who "insist" on people doing things their way to know that I dont want to be that way. Even if I agree with their way. Those who know what I mean, know what I mean. Those who dont, wont, and are usually the ones always trying to find more people to go shoot with them. |
