I'm in north Palm Beach County. Winds are getting gusty, and am pretty sure power will be out with in the next 5 hours or so, since the grid around here seems to be constructed of egg shells.

Frances was weaker, but lingered, this ones an ass-kicker in comparision.

Check in either before or after the storm so we know how everyone's doing. I'm signing off....got a few more things to do. If anyone needs assistance after the storm, and I'm in a position to help, I'll check here and see if there's anything that needs to be done to help out. With some luck, others will do the same.

Here she comes as of 12:30 in the afternoon....stay safe everyone.

Merritt Island, west side by the Indian River lagoon. Not a single house in my neighborhood evacuated.

Just got Roadrunner back this morning. I couldn’t believe it when 2 guys in a BrightHouse van pulled up in my driveway.

I'll bet it doesn't stay up for long.

Good luck out there on the beach  - forget no one.

I don't know what I'd do, but I would consider more than the maximum sustained winds in deciding whether to stay or leave, since hurricanes also spawn tornadoes and cause flooding.

West Broward here. I don't expect anything major. Maybe Tropical storm force winds and plenty of rain. Gunshow in Ft. Lauderdale was cancelled, so I didn't get any preban rope!

BTW. What's the rope for?

Good luck boys! Give Jeanne hell!

All boarded up, water supply  "check", can goods check, gas for generator "check".  Now all there is to do is wait and see where she goes.  Good luck to all.

Alachua, County.
Man is this shit getting old. Took all the plywood  down at work on Monday, put it all back up today. Had most of the plywood off the house, planned on taking the rest down today. Put it all back up today. Gassed everything up, one station was already out of regular and mid-grade. Cleaned out the gutters. Hauled everything into the shed. Another weekend pissed away. What is it with these damn storms and weekends? Not one has hit in the middle of the week. Hell I'm not done cleaning up from Frances.

Some good gusts now but no serious rain yet.  At least this thing is moving fast and doesn't seem to have the strong feeder-bands Frances did.  Seems like we had this much gusty wind for a couple of days before Frances finally decided to move on in.

Charlotte / lee ...... 0400 the wind started getting  worse and was followed by heavy rain. We're getting a steady 60-70 mph wind now with heavy rain. I checked the map i didn't realize it's in the middle of the state. I thought this was suppose to go up the east coast. By sun pm it should be closer so i expect the wind to increase. Stay safe brothers..

Well it looks as if the worst has come and gone for us here in Lake County.  We had a lot of larger okas fall and they did some real damage.

Most of our patrol time today was in the trailer parks, lots of trim and roof damage and many car ports gone.

As for my place, all is well and I have not lost power as of this post.  Good luck to all.
