I'll be in south Florida next week. Flying into Ft. Lauderdale and driving down to the Keys.

Anything special I should know about carrying? I'll probably have my 3" 625 in a fanny pack. I know that there's no carry in bars, courthouses; anywhere else I shouldn't bring the gun?

TIA

Thanks. So it's:

Bars
Schools
Courthouse
Police station
Legislative meetings (but not public buildings?)

Any allowance in the law for places to post a "No Gun" sign that has the force of law?

The most that can be done is you can be asked to leave. Nothing more. Now if you refuse to leave, you could get sighted with a trespass warning, but that wouldnt have anything to do with you carrying, and really means jack crap unless you come back.

That's pretty much what I presumed.

Florida CCW is almost as good as here in PA

Carried in PA when I was there last Nov- even in the liberal city of Philadelphia.  Glad I did too. Their CCW laws look pretty similar to ours.  I remember that Packing.org had some good discussions on this.

Pretty much the only place you can't carry in PA is a courthouse or a school (and there's an exemption to the school thing for "lawful purposes" but no one wants to volunteer to be the test case). None of that "Can't carry in a bar unless they primarily serve food" stuff here.

Funny thing about the way the law works; when I go to the county courthouse, which is where the Sheriff's office is, to get the Sheriff to sign my Form 4's, I have to go into the courthouse, which means I should check my firearm (they are required by law to provide lockers for this purpose).

However, when I go down to the security office to check my firearm they always ask where I'm going, and when I tell them the Sherrif's office, they tell me to just keep the gun on, since I'm not going into the "courthouse" part of the building.

The really silly thing is that you have to take an elevator ride to check your gun; if I was a bad guy I'd be loose in the building armed.
