HK listened (I guess) and are coming out with a version that will work on MILSPEC lowers, not a proprietary one. They will also be selling uppers as well. The HK IAR won the USMC IAR trials. I'd like this version myself but it probably won't happen. Anyhoo, pics below thanks to SMGLee.

Very nice. So the 416 will use standard lowers? good for H&K. The 417 will have a unigue magazine design correct? Thank you sir!

There will be a version of the MR556's upper reciever that accepts normal AR lowers. Someone correct me if im wrong? |

I wonder how much the upper will cost? It will probably be around $2000 or even greater. Still might be
an ok deal considering the quality of HK products. They should definitely sell the MR762 uppers and either make them compatible with SR25 mags or allow some AR manufacturers to make lowers that will take HK mags. |

I still wish they would have gone with the old G3 mags, but it looks like a great deer rifle.
