I had to do it eventually.

They said the ones they are getting these days are no longer built by Bailey and are being assembled by Vector.

Am I making a mistake?

im also on the fence about an mp5 in .40.

how much are they asking on these? and are they sp89 style, or HK 94 style?

I'm getting the pistol which is $1504.

After that, $200 for the stamp and the MSRP on the AAC Raptor-40 is $500.

Can anyone else vouch for it?

Vector says it's going to make another run and that SW is no longer involved.

I'm pretty sure all I'll do is get a new TG housing, SBR stamp, stock, and suppressor with about 4 extra magazines.

SW is probably not involved, as far as I know they no longer exist. cohaire will most definately be involved as they are the only ones making recivers currently, and cohaire is just another name for SW.

although I have heard good reviews of the current crop of SW/cohaire stuff.

that being said, I'm probably going to be making a leap on one of these as well.

I disagree on your 4 mags though, I usually do a minimum of 10 per long gun, im kind of a mag whore, child of the first ban I guess.

I have a Coharie MP5/10 SBR that I got from Vector.  It has some of the later mods/fixes, and runs like a champ.

Here's a shot of my Dad firing it last year:

they going to ever start making the 9mm MP5 clones again?  I want one BAD

Word on the street is that there was a tiff between the only guy that makes the 9mm receivers (Bailey) and Vector.

Now Vector doesn't have a source for 9mm receivers anymore.  I'm not sure where there getting the receivers they are building on now.

Could be just a load of internet BS, but that's the word.

If you really want one, then no.
It's not for me though. It's just more magazines I'd have to buy and really doesn't do anything something I already have doesn't, except shoot Short&Weak. That's not enough CDI factor for me to get one. As far as Vector goes, my V93 pistol works great and came with a full-auto carrier. I have nothing negative to say about them.

The current Coharie 9mm guns are actually very well made.  I picked up a CA89 pistol to use with a registered fullauto HK pack and am very pleased.

Look I now have both a SW5 and a Vector MP5 .40 cal clone.  If you want one than just buy it.  They are alot of fun and both of mine are running great.  The .4 cal was just picked up and is running fine.

Does anyone other than AAC make a MP5/40 can?

I'm doubting that I'll be able to pick one up...

Are the mags expensive? A local shop has them for 100 bucks a piece

I'd go KAC if you have the money and want a dedicated can. They have some available immediately too.

If not you can get a EVO-40 with a thread adapter (what I'm doing).

You know, Vector does have a .357sig one, uses same sized mags as the .40 but kicks it's ass ballistically (sp??).

I had a HK USP-C .40 which I sold to a friend to get the same thing in .357sig and it shoots farther, faster and straiter than my .40.

Sweet round, if I had the money I would get one, but I already started my 9mm build with an SW5 flat, and now i'm saving for a parts kit from Adam Webber.
