Apparently it is hard to get in touch with the one doing the work: I suspect with these project guns that if it gets off the ground it will take a lot longer and cost a lot more than he or anyone can imagine.

Isn't that the German WWII "assault rifle" that many on the Eastern front begged for?
Magazine attaches on the left side and the "pushed-back" pistol grip is for the para-trooper version.

I believe you mean the StG 44 )(Sturmmgewehr) often mistakenly referred to as the MP-44 (Maschinepistole).

The FG 42 (FalschirmjaegerGewehr) was intended pretty much exclusively as a Paratrooper weapon.

I could be wrong, though.....

yes very cool indeed!

some may be getting this confused with the 'German Garand' - which i cannot locate any photos of.

there was a version of this with a curved barrel for shooting around corners - lol
