Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - another buttstock stock question...

Can you interchange the back plate and spring guide/rod between a full stock and the retractable stocks?

I ask because I might like to take off the retractable stocks greyish colored parts for JLD's painted to match the rifle parts...when I eventually buy one that is. Possible or not?
