Damn near new rifle with a metal bipod. My friend wants to sell it to me now. What is honest value on this? It is REAL HK and I kind of want it but I guess it has to be a good deal. What price range are these guys going for. I see the vectors are at $1100. But it is not a real HK.

Did you compare look at what they are going for at gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com? That will usually give you a good idea.

Last I remember, they were around the range of $3,000 (give or take, depending on quality and accessories).

What's his offer? I'd hear it first before I say, I'll give you ____ for it.

I've seen 93s for as low as $1,700. If it's a very nice specimen or a Series 42, maybe $2,000-2,100 is fairer.

for a nice HK93A2(fixed stock) I would say $1900-2100, add $300-ish if it has the A3 stock. the 93's run a few hundred more than the 91's. Anything under $1800 is a great deal IMOP.

Bipod is worth $75

Mags are spendy, so figure each will run you $40-60.

I'll say this, I LOVE my 93, took it out shootin yesterday with the Hensolt 4x28 scope(thing is 20+ years old), at 100 yards I was 1-2" groups and I am by no means a marksman, just shooting WWB as well.

so you know. the 93's used 2 different carriers, one(older) has the buffered carrier and uses a noin buffered stock. the latter models used a non buffered carrier and buffered stock.......so make sure parts are not mismatched, because a non buffered carrier and non buffered stock is NOT a good thing. now a buffered carrier and buffered stock is not as bad I don't think.

the 93's that used the buffered carrier will have the all plastic A2 stock(looks like a MP5A2 stock) the 93's that use the non buffered carriers use the metal backed A2 stock(looks more like a 91 stock)

not near the surplus parts for a 93 as a 91. also not near as many 93's sold in the US compared to the 91.

the finish on the 93 should be the blue/gray color.

Where can somone find a nice HK-93 in the $2K price range? All I see is about $2500.00 or more when I look on GunsAmerica.com!

Here's the trick...

Once or twice a day visit the following boards:
Sturmgewehr
HK Pro
and the EE here...

I bet within two weeks you can find a HK93 in the price range and condition you want. It takes a little work but can be done... That's how I got mine a month or so ago...

Well I have it and it is cool. However the lack of a paddle release makes for a SLOW mag change. but hey it looks cool.
Maybe I will trade it off but for a while I guess I can be the HK snob at the range.

wildearp I doubt it hot he has had it since 84 or so. my friend just got his ass in some hot water lately and needed every fast penny he could get. DUI. I do not see him being the type to have a hot gun anyway. i think he told me he payed $500 back in the day so to him I guess he did ok. Not really an auto guy only into hunting rifles and wingshooting. He made the offer not me. As to the date code it is
IB or 82.
why do you want a pic of the roll marks???? I can do that if you like.

add me to the list if you want to sell it......I want a 2nd 93, the 93 is my favorite HK long gun

think he wants to see the roll marks to see if its a HK or other, its an HK......Vectors(or any others AFAIK) don't come in the gray/blue HK

What PAS is talking about is to see if the HK93 has and 42 stampings. HK ran out of 93 barrels and used barrels from the 33 FA rifle instead. The 33 barrels were a little shorter than 16" so HK had to put on a longer flasher hider for import.
They are kinda rare, and like Phill said shoot great.

To see if a 93 has a 1/7 twist, check the reciver to see if there is two stampings or check to see if there is a longer flash hider.

I bought a very nice one for $2500 and thought I got a good buy. You robbed that poor guy!

93 mags are a little spendy. You cna get 40 rounders at Vector arms. I would advise against changing the magwell if you plan on reselling it.

I think mine is a later one. Looks like it has a longer suppressor. I think it was one of the last few It has the HK 93 cal 5.56 and under it HK42-XXXXXXimported.
How do I know which one it is.

A 1:7 barrel will be stamped 178, look near the trunnion.

I don't see any stampings on the barrel but it does appear to have a longer suppressor than the one in the photo. Whats was the sig. of the 42 and how did he get the year. I don't see those letters on mine either.

well I'll be darned.........looks like I scored me a HK93 with the 1-7 barrel today, its IH dated, 42-XXXXX :)

and as luck would have it.......a SR9 TC and a VP70 NIB the same day....;)

Here is mine. I got it for $449.95 in 1985, still has to be my favorite rifle to date. If only I'd known then what I know now, I'd have bought 10 of them
