This is an unrefinished cali DOJ with some work done by Jayson at IGF. Good looking gun now made almost perfect. Fast turn around by Jayson as well. Good work as well!

H&K newbie here the HK 94 from CA DOJ are SBR not NFA right?

Great pics, what does one of these run price-wise and are they still available?

ETA: Sorry your right SBR is NFA so I guess I meant FA.

Well, to get nit-picky, SBR is NFA.  The NFA covers FA, SBR, AOW, short barrelled shotguns and DD's (did I forget one?).

I can't see the pics, but the HK94;s from the CA DOJ were all 16" barrel, so just a normal semi auto.

great guns, I have a pair and will be getting a 3rd one in the next few weeks.

they sold for $2200-2500

Ummm.... correction.... $2000 and up when they were originally available (that's what I paid for my pair). Now, it's getting hard (but not impossible) to find one for less than $2500 because people are starting to realize that even though they are not safe queens, they are still HK '94s and make excellent sear hosts.

There were about 400 imported in the early 90s for the Cali DOJ or Dept of Corrections.  Don't know how many have been released, but they only make up about 3% of the HK94s ever imported, so the impact they have had on HK94 prices will soon be gone... I picked up a nice 80s import with an A3 stock for only $2700.  No doubt without the DOJ guns to suppress prices I would have had to pay $500 to $1000 more.
Here are my 2 HK94s, the dark one is the DOJ gun...

pretty sure there were more than 400 of the CA DOJ guns than the 400 that they got in 91.......why? because both my CA DOJ guns are 89(or 88, I forget which) vintage.

Ysued,

Jayson cut and threaded my barrel, installed a three lug with this cute littlle screw off thingy so I can screw on a suppressor. He also did a paddle mag for me.  He welded my bolt carrier too.

The only thing missing is a refinish and remark. I shoot my guns and they get banged up so I held off on this part for now.

I'm wondering about what stock to put on it now.

Has anyone done the threaded barrel route like you guys and put a 3-lug can on it?  Some people have said its a bad idea to thread and then use a 3-lug.

Jayson did this in right under 3 weeks!!

It was this long because he ran out of the Fake Cans and had to wait to get them delivered!!

Enjoy!!

The three lug is welded or soldered on the threads. Some folk use locktite on the threads. I don't think this would be as strong. I think this would be the best way to add a three lug as it makes the two parts almost one. I'm not a big suppressor fan so I don't own one. I can't  think of a better way to attach a three lug. With this three lug you can screw on a suppressor as well. But i would trust this three lug attachment.

Tell Jayson what you want and he will give you a quote find his email at investment grade firearms. I had all kinds of stuff done paddle mag, welded bolt carrier, high end three lug, cut barrel etc. Mine came out some where around $500 using all of his parts. I think the paddle mag install/parts cost the most of anything. I think less than 2-3 weeks was my turn around I had the form one in hand he will start the work without it I think.
