I understand that the authentic HK way is stamped steel.  But why couldnt someone make one by cast or milled steel?  Would the engineering be to big of an undertaking?  Im trying my best not to sound dumb, i just wondered why.

Under 15min and i look dumb.  Dammit!  I take it that it just isnt a good idea, or more manufacturers would go that route.

Milled would be prohibitively expensive.  Cast isn't particularly good.

HK knew what they were doing when they designed it as a stamped receiver.
