I have an unfinished Vector HK93 receiver...

Will it rust if I leave it sitting in my room?

Do I need to oil it and put it in a sealed container?

Yes.  You should coat it in oil and store it in a bag.

I have 2 sitting here for about 18 months...in my garage. No sign of rust. Depends a lot on the air circulation and humidity.

To be safe, at least put it in a bag with dessicant, at most like he says, coat with oil.

Better yet, build that bad boy up and put a finish on it.

You're in Georgia?  I'm surprised it's not fully rusted by now!

Yes, take precautions to protect that in the humid South.

Down here, without protection of some type,  it would have surface oxidation in a day.

At the least, put some CLP on it.

It was fine...

I doused it with WD-40 and sealed it in two plastic bags...

use CLP not WD40, WD40 will evaporate... it's for Water Displacement, hence the WD, CLP will not...

just my $0.02

I used both...

I'll put more MPro7 lube on it soon...
