This is a G3 clone I've been working on for the last few months.  The reciever and barrel are made by a company called JLD(in case you missed the massive PTR thread).  Other than that, the rest of the parts are HK or contract HK.  I had some problems fitting parts to the original JLD (damn you to hell JLD) so I've done some extensive surgery to this rifle.  Heres some of the things I've done:

    Muzzle brake by IGF
    Envirotech Finish by IGF
New cocking tube (JLD tube was canted and sucked generally)
US plastic lower (SW?!?!, I got it from KB)
    Tapco Claw mount
2-8x36 Generic scope (Nothing fancy till I find some cheap stanag rings)
Weight??? Damn heavy, the scope doesn't help
    Meets 922(r) import parts count...shhhhh*

It shoots 2" groups at 100yds but the barrel wasn't properly floating when I shot that group.  The trigger is also a bit smoother now so if I fix that floating problem (pretty easy), I think I can get into the 1"/1MOA zone with it.

If I could do things over, I would have had Jayson at IGF put together a clone for me instead of dealing with that JLD rifle.  The JLD rifles are alright but not worth the time to fit all the 'cool' replacement parts.

*JK, plz don't call ATF

E&L butt pad?  Why not add the cheek piece to add some height for the scope?

P.S. Who treaded the barrel.  I was thinking about picking up one of the PTR barrels and  having it threaded, and using a Protech brake that I have.

I was in a hurry to take the pics I forgot to put the cheek rest on when I half ass scoped it.

Jayson at IGF did my barrel work.  The brake was $40 and the labor was $40.

It also helped that I was getting the whole rifle refinised too and that was $150.

So what's your total so far for parts and labor (not your labor)?

I  got a lot of extra stuff.

Handgaurd
Buttstock
E&L cheek rest
Heavy buffer
New extractor + spring
New cocking tube
New cocking tube cap
New lower
Brake
Claw mount

and about $250 in labor.

Who made the "brake?"  From the pic's it looks pretty darn close to another muzzle attachemment that you see alot on older rifles.

Thumbs Up.

Looks pretty sweet. I really like the lower and the muzzle device.

Where did you get the lower(I don't know who KB is)?  I want one for my PTR-91 rifle...and put a muzzle brake on it, and also the paddle type mag relase.

By the way, my first PTR 91 (SN#600 range) had a problem so I sent it in.  It had a FMP bolt.  They sent me a different replacement rifle, 900 SN# range with a MADE IN USA bolt.  Here's a pic.

Well, after weighing the PTR and other clones I've decided that a Greek SAR8 is the one for me.  Call me crazy but I think the thumbhole stock on the SAR8 looks cool.
Also KB is [email protected] , hope this helps Kevin.

Wow, looks great.  I don't intend to go that far with my PTR-91, but yours looks fantastic!

I'm not going that far either, but I do want new stocks and a Flash Hider.

Brownells has a sweet .308 smith arms flash hider, but the damn thing is $99!
