Finally got to try out my SAR-8, for which I have several thermold mags.  Was having failure to feed problems on the last couple of rounds in the mag.  So, do thermolds in general suck, or do I possibly have a couple with weak springs?  Any specific mags recommendations for this gun?  Thanks.

I've had pretty good luck with the thermelts...even in full auto.  Also, I only load to 18 or 19 rounds.  When I go all the way to 20, I usually have feeding problems, but its the first round or two, not the last couple.  You should check your springs, but also the engagement points on the mag where the mag catch grabs.  If its worn down, the mag may not be holding in the right position as it gets jarred around by shooting it.

You can try this. I had the same problem with the failure to feed on the last few rounds in one particular Thermold mag. Another shooter told me to do this, try stretch the mag spring a bit and sloves the loading problem. It works.

I've got about 15 of them. No problems.
