The Israeli LB kits at PSA are on clearance for $299.99 and DSA has Israeli receivers in stock currently. Unfortunately the DSA barrels are out of stock. Anyone have a source for barrels?

Never built a FAL but I ordered on of those kits a few days ago. I'd like to get the forged lower when its in stock. I have no idea what barrel to look for.

I'm on the fence. I don't really need to build another fal but the price for the kit is good. It would literally sit in my safe and never get shot.

They say the barrels will be not much longer and haven't mentioned ETA on the Hebrew marked receivers.
ETA: just saw your waiting for the forged receiver. |

I just got my $299 PSA kit. it looks pretty good. I think everything is there. No muzzle device. The 6 mags I got also look good. Unmarked.

I have a 21" Rhodie barrel sitting on my bench. Would this barrel be appropriate for this kit?

I was going to use it on my rhodie but I didn't. |

I rolled the dice on one. I seen pictures of the kits and they look like type two kits, but I see DS Arms has a type 1 receiver for these kits. I already have an Imbel barrel with a gas block.
Does anyone know for certain if the Israeli light barrel front site parts, gas tube, gas regulator, and gas plug, fit the Imbel gas block? |

Got my kit today and it's really nice and either never fired or fired very very little. I immediately jumped on PSA's site and ordered another. Hell of a deal for 300 bucks.

So with the vertical takedown lever would a lugged barrel be the correct model?

Yours looks alot like mine. My hand guards are terribly mismatched, two completely different colors. PSA told me "oh well" when I asked about it
|

Mine kit came in tonight. So far kit looks to have seen moderate use. Handguard wood does pretty much match. Handguard metal was damaged/bent. Was able to get it back to close to normal. Stock is in pretty good shape. Needs a good cleaning.
Will see how it fits once I get it all together whenever that may be. Have not looked at rest of parts, jumped on the handguard right away. Guess for the price can't go wrong. Now if DSA would get those barrels restocked and get my receiver sent I can get going on this bad boy. |

Will a barrel like thiswork or do we need the lightweight Israeli one?

My kit arrived today. The metal parts are in great condition with most of the finish. Handguard are matching and the wood is nice with a few dings. Carrier has most of the finish with I think is a Belgian proof mark. The bolt face looks unfired. The lower is a type two with a vertical take down lever and has no numbers. The stock has repair on top by the buttplate with a few gouges, is dark, and lots of nasty crud. Missing was one hand guard spacer.

Locking shoulder costs extra. $350 dollar barrel? DSA lists them at $125 for the Israeli barrel. Close on the receiver though, Mine was $414. ETA- Locking shoulder is included with the kit. You can generally trade it for another size on the FF if needed. |

A lot of the Izzy light barrels were issued with only one spacer, Izzy heavy's always had two to the best of my knowledge. |

Got my second kit today and very happy again for a $300 kit. This one appears to be earlier production (14XX serial) and it's a lot dirtier than the first but everything so far looks to be in good shape and all parts are present.

Has anyone tried to build a 16" para with one of these kits?? I realize this is probably blasphemy but it could be pretty rad.

I caved and bought a 4th kit this afternoon and they went out of stock a couple of hours later.

Looks good!!!
I ended up sending mine to ARS, my barrel was going to need some lathe work in order to "time" right. |
|
|
I just picked up my DSA Israeli receiver from the gun shop. Barrel should be coming any day now. I just need a receiver wrench.

sold out.

I've been sitting on a izzy parts kit, with barrel and receiver for the past year. If sending in to ARS to build it out would it be beneficial to have the Parkerizing done? I have the DSA receiver and barrel, just never done a parts kit before and just curious if it will look mix of old/new not uniform.

This is what mine looked like right after I put it together. I've worn it down since then to a more used finish.
