Nice! Any steel reinforced areas?
Pics of the chicken and biscuits? |
|
No steel in the mag except for the spring. Moses reports he broke the "beak" off one and it still locks in a feeds with no issues.
Wasn't my receipt....I got it from another shooter. I couldn't find my Chick-fil-A receipt Got the mag from Moses at a shoot on Saturday. AFTER he ran it through the 3-gun match with "zero" issues..... |
|
This is good news. Maybe later this year I can get ahold of some of these.
|

Glad to see so many of you are jealous of my Bojangles haha. Back to the mag, it fit and worked great in my DSA.

Just wanted to set the facts straight, I did break the beak off of one mag but it was the very first prototype mag 2 years ago, the only reason the beak broke was because it was in the wrong location in relation to the top of the mag, so the beak was getting extreme pressure every time it was inserted into the FAL and sustaining that pressure the entire time it was locked in the gun.
I probably shot 800 rds through it before the beak broke not to mention I inserted it and took it out of the gun several thousand times while testing it's durability. The beak is now in the exact location it needs to be in and is also larger with more area contacting the body of the mag so as to reinforce it. The beak is not an issue at all and hasn't been since the location was changed on the second prototype. If a beak breaks off a mag from normal use (and by normal I mean not trying to break it off on purpose) I will replace the magazine period. I've started getting word from the Colorado guys who got theirs and had a chance to shoot them and they have all functioned 100% no problems whatsoever. The Moses mag that is for sale now is the 4th generation and to this date has had zero malfunctions through all the test firing it's gone through, ZERO MALFUNCTIONS! I think that's worth repeating! It was shot through at least 14 different FAL's (including 2 L1A1's), plus the Colorado guys who have shot theirs. This project has taken 3 years for me to complete because I wanted it to be the best it could possibly be and refused to compromise on anything that could possibly be a problem and I refused to release them to the public for sale until I was convinced it was the best it could possibly be. If you have an FAL that has bolt over base malfunctions the Moses mag will most likely fix that problem, because the extra and some what extreme amount of time & effort we put forth to get the mag catch tab in the exact perfect location, so in the majority of FAL's that are at least close to being inspec as far as the mag catch goes the Moses mag should lock up practically perfect with zero wiggle fore and aft which is very important in preventing bolt over base malfunctions. __________________ |

Can anyone who actually has one of these mags take a photo of it in contrast with the standard metal ones?
While I'm waiting, I'd like an idea on how the sizes compare. It would suck to be unable to use any gear for them because they don't fit. |
|
|
Meaning if a beak broke off under normal usage, I will replace the mag.

What is a magazine period and where is it located on the magazine? Does it count as a U S part for 922R compliance? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

AWESOME!!! Should work on a RFB right? View Quote Yes, with a bit of Dremel / file / sandpaper work. I believe the rear of the RFB's mag well interferes with the upper rib on the mag, necessitating flattening the rib. Moses can confirm / correct when next he visits this thread. From what he said on FALFiles, it sounded like a quick and easy mod. |
|
As said in previous post it will need modifications to the upper ribs to fit in a RFB or a LAR-8, just a matter of taking off enough material for it to fit in the magwell.
I did this to a few to use in my LAR-8, they work great!!!! Also we are already working on molds for a mag that will work in the SCAR 17, RFB and the LAR-8 with no mods needed. Hope to have them out in the late fall. |

Awesome Moses
I've been watching since you first announced these, probably a great feeling getting them to market after all the work |
|
Was following the original thread on the FAL Files since it first started.
Thanks Moses. |

I just got my mags, and they are well worth the money!
For those who want to use these in an RFB, the upper rear ribbed section needs to be flattened, i.e, remove the wide angled rib and the two thin ribs below it, going forward to the rearmost vertical rib. Once that is done, they lock in nicely with zero wobble and come out easily. " /> Unmodified on the left, modified on the right. " /> The modified mag also locks in correctly in my FALs (from Imbel to Hesse). |

View Quote How does it fit in mag pouches? Has anyone tried that yet? My concern is that it may be like G3 mags, ie too wide to fit. |
|
They fit in some mag pouches not in others.
They fit in the Canadian L1A1/FAL pouches and those hold 2, I know because I have quite a few of those, and also I know they fit in the USGI M-4 Double magazine CQB style 4050, it holds one, I also have some of those. |

Can someone PM me where to get these mags please?
Thank you, AKASL LIVE FREE OR DIE ETA: These are 20 rounders correct? |
|

Does Moses have any plans for making 30rd mags?
The 20rd are awesome, but 30rd mags would be really really awesome, and I would by at least 12 if the price was similar. |

I asked before but someone trolled my request. this is Moses web site , its up and running , so you can purchase his new mag there . I bought from him when he started a thread at the FAL Files , they are really nice made mags , I've put 60 rounds down range with it and so far not one problem with it , it takes awhile to get your order as he is busier than a one legged man at an ass kicking contest , but they are worth the wait ... links to vendors, hot or not are a no go in this forum, they belong to the EE. Consider yourself warned |

Hey, I do plan on making 26 rd mags next and maybe 30 rd mags further down the road.
Most likely be OD mags in the next batch and possibly some flat dark earth, these will be standard 20 rd mags. The website is easy to find, it's what you would think it would be. :) |

Thanks for the info and reviews; I've never heard of these before.
Also never heard of "BoJangles" either. Hope they open up out West. |
