Souther Africa Militaria has Rhodesian uniforms.

101's Rhodie chest rigs are top notch. I love mine. Go's great with my R1's.

Ive got 101's rig and its very close to the original. If you want one close get the 4 cell rig, not 5 cell. Rhodesian camo is crazy expensive. I still have some of my original stuff but it is not in good shape. Original uniforms procured by the Rhodesian Security Forces were not the best quality to start with. There were some bigger suppliers in Salisbury but also a cottage industry that made things like the chest rigs. As far as UK pattern camo, Sportsman's Guide has it as well as Century Arms Ltd. Ive found British uniforms and gear to be of better quality than the other surplus out there.

If you can not find a Rhodesian chest rig the Blackhawk commando chest rig will work. I found a couple of them fairly priced on eBay. I can carry 14 mags with Magpul 7.62 installed on them. Hope this helps.

I can hook you up with a chest rig!  4 mags = $75 shipped!  5 mags = $85 shipped!

I can vouch for 101's chest rig. I bought one from him some time ago, and I absolutely love it. It is currently loaded, hanging right next to my "ready rifle".

whats the hive mind's take on the 4 pouch vs 5?
are 5 pouch ones "too much" as in gets in the way of your arms as they wrap around the torso more than the 4?

101ABN327,

What is the going rate for the 5 pocket chest rig?

I was going to order one several months ago but bought a new pistol (XD45), mags & custom sights etc.

So I zero'ed out my play money fund big time.

Maybe sometime in the near future however.....

Thanks for the reply!

How well will your chest rig work with M16 30rnd mags?

Looks like you could get 2 per pocket at least.

EDIT...I just saw the photos of your vest with the M16 mags in the
other thread. Looks like the M16 mags would work OK if needed.

Cheers,

I make a vest specifcally for 30 rd. M-16 mags.  It holds 8 magazines.

M16 mags will work in the FAL vest as well, correct?

I have a 38" chest and the 4 mag rig is just right. I would not go with the 5 mag rig.
