Other than personal preference for the two different styles of lightening cuts, is there any technical or mechanical reason to choose DS Arms' Type 1 receiver over the Type 2?

I like the looks of the Type 1 better.  The Type 2 was made to strengthen the receiver for full auto fire.  It is not necessary for any amount of semi auto firing.  DSA does make beautiful receivers.

Type 1 and 2 are both beautiful.

Collect all three + maybe Inch pattern as well.

The type 2 has always been my favorite.  They just look cool, especialy with a black durokote finnish.  I own three FAL's, 1 type one. 1 type three and 1 DSA inch.  One day I will have a type 2.

I also think that the Type II is 'prettier' than the Type I...

It also is stronger, what with the extra metal around the receiver latch.  Having said that, the extra strength is irrelevant for semi guns...

However, I also really like the Type III receiver, so I don't know where that leaves my comments about the Type II...

will this extra material on the type II make it more accurate?
