I removed the cut/demilled receiver from the barrel. Made a nice cut and didn't affect the barrel threads at all. However, in splitting the receiver, my chilsel hit the barrel on the side opposite the ejector cut and made a "v" shaped cut on the barrel face( where the bolt contacts.)  The "v" indentation doesn't reach the threads and you can ses it in the attached pics. Did I just ruin this barrel??  It seems like it should not affect operation, but I have no experience.  Anyone out there have an answer????

You should be OK  how deep does it go on the end

It is the width of the smooth portion of the barrel above the threads. The bottom of the "v" just about reaches the threads, but doesn't.

Check the chamber mouth for any "stakes." If you find a "stake", file it smooth and make sure that the chamber mouth is round. Insert a loaded cartridge and ensure that it will go all of the way in without dragging, hanging up, or scratching the brass.

As mentioned, just check for and smooth any burs or anythign and you'll be good to go. Did pretty much the same thing to one of mine, and its my best shooter.

You're fine. That has happened to lots of guys. I have done it myself. Time it up, headspace and fire.

One more vote for-You're ok!
You can even bugger up the threads (a little) and it'll work. AMHIK
