i will be finishing up soon on two builds, a stg58 and a imbel "izzy" clone.
i am new to 308 shooting but i have been following the threads...kinda...anyway, i bought a battle pack each of australian and south african military surplus..which is better?
 i would like to buy a thousand rounds or so...maybe more..which should i shop for? is the portugal stuff any good? thanks to all who reply

I like Port. and Aussie the best. Some folks say the Aussie is the most accurate surplus. South African is pretty good as well. If you can find any I would get the port as it is a little cheaper. It is becoming hard to find.

I've bought some port that comes in links in the brown ammo cans.  Good stuff for sure.

What do you guys do with all the links once you de-link the ammo?

Pick up your empty brass and reassemble the belts. They make great decorations.

The Indian is ok as long as you get it in early to mide seventys, (the british were still running the factorys)  but stay a way from the blister packs that are out there.
