With a too short barrel you are probably better off just converting it to 7.62x39mm  |

Yep, no velocity and too much fire ball. IMHO 18" is the practical limit for .308. |

I just got done building/converting four carbine's. I did them all at 17.3", because thats what FN determined as the most optimum length.
