When I was a kid I used to watch the evening news with my Dad, I remember watching the news reels of the British troops in Northern Ireland carrying their L1A1's with that Looonng flash hider. Growing up I always wanted one but needless to say they were always out of reach for me, Recently though I sold off a few parts of my collection and purchased three rifles Ive been wanting to add.
When browsing Gun Broker I ran across a Preban FNFAL unfired.  Yesterday I recieved the rifle and immediatly found a new favorite that was only reinforced today by a trip to the range.
The heft and feel of the rifle is second to none, some folks may not like the weight but I for one really like the feel of it. The lines of this rifle make it in my opinion one of the most attractive if all the battle rifles.  it handled well functioned fawlessly , and was as accurate as a rifle of this type should be( maybe better) Ive read about some of the things folks dont like about it like the sights but I didnt notice any thing there that would make me change them, The groups will back me up on this. There was a bit of heat build up in the forearm after an intense bottle chasing session, but other than that I really am immensly impressed with the rifle. We put a tad over 200 rounds through it without the slightest hiccup.
Now I just need to get more mags,

with another rifle I recently purchased RF94

Very sharp looking rifle.  I do not know where my FAL addiction came from, but it was when I was in high school (years ago).  What is really funny is a close friend shot my L1A1 and I passed the addiction on to him.  It was so bad we got together and purchased kits from DSA and we (with help from a friend and real gunsmith) built up and refinished some fine Imbel rifles.  We have shot the heck out of them.

I enjoy shooting ARs and AKs and many rifles, but battle rifles are in a class by themselves.  I am totally jealous of your preban, and glad to see you appreciate it!

- and very nice collection

Judging by the brake, I'd guess that AK is a Krebs Custom job.

As I mentioned in your HK thread, beautiful FAL ya got there.

The FAL is by far my favorite rifle I have ever shot.  Theyre good looking, reliable, and pack a punch.  what more can you ask for?  Thats why Ive got 3!

I passed on the addiction to my father-in law who promtly built 2 of his own after shooting one of mine.

Have any of you guys seen the T48 that DSA is making?....me thinks me needs one

That stock came out on the Factory Springfield Brush rifles back before the Ban It was a modified USGI synthetic using a Chaote folder.
SOrry no longer available and when I called SA they informed me they had no plans to reintroduce any folders at this time.
