I was at the Houston gun show yesterday and saw the regular table for Global Trades, makers of pretty nice AKs. But yesterday they had something new. There were a couple of FAL carbines sitting there (all black) with bipods and the AK style muzzle breaks. The butt stock was that funky little thing that looks like a hatchet (SAW). The receiver was an Imbel. Not sure which version (1,2,3)

Well the price was $850. I realize that you can build on cheaper but this one looked pretty nice and well built. And Global Trades seems to have a pretty good rep for building a rifle.

Anybody else seen one or own one?

As long as they are built with quality parts, its hard to mess these things up.  If its got an Imbel or DC receiver and FSE fire control parts, you should be in good shape.  Just find out what compliance parts they use.  If they are counting the magazine floor plate, you need to figure in the cost of buying one more part so you can use any magazine.
