We just got a Plainfield M1 carbine copy that was bought in the 60's by my wifes grandfather. Where are the ammo deals for .30 car? From what I've noticed it ain't cheap. Luckily it came with 950 rounds from various mfg. and some extra mags.

Save your brass, and reload, or get someone to reload for you.

I just looked at some of the ammo and it's in plain white boxes marked 50 cartridges, 30 carbine, 110 grain ball on one in. But all of them have mixed head stamps. Is this some comercially made reloads? A little too nice for joe blow. Anyone have experiance with this stuff?

Mixed headstamps is a sure indicator of reloads to me.
CMP has 500rds of Aguila for $200. AIM is about $10 cheaper and I think it's better ammo:

Definately not cheap, but at least it can be found

1000 rounds of .30 carbines goes for almost $400 nowadays? Dang, I quit buying when it hit $9 a box of 50 for S&B.

I think the Prvi is better than the Aguilla.

Look to Wideners for that.

I'm going to post a seperate thread to identify the reloads.

The only ammo that I have had issues with is the Magtech in my M2.  Prvi, Aguila, Winchester, Federal, and reloads work great.
