Just curious, why do you prefer the ACOG on a SOCOM 16 over a Aimpoint or Eotech?

No particular reason.
Got a compm4 on it now. Just ordered a Micro T-1. Will probably order a ACOG just to see if I like it. |

An ACOG is gonna sit pretty far forward on a SOCOM if you use the facory mount. Eye relief issues will be likely. That mount that comes with the rifle is best suited for a red dot. Aimpoint would be best, IMO. If you want an ACOG for it, I'd get a Troy MCS stock system for your rifle, so you could mount the ACOG closer to your eye, like on the M16 style for which it was made.

Put it in a Troy MCS and use the ACOG TA11.
or Go with a nice woor GI stock and use iron sights. |
