My son bought his first gun a NM M1A with a stainless barrel with a very nice wood stock and I have a pre-ban NM that just went into a new boyds walnut NM woodstock.

Both shoot extremely well, his is bedded and mine is soon to go for the treatment.

I did a stain followed with BLO and were wondering how to seal them to avoid warping..etc.

?

We have GAG synthetic stock rifles, Question strictly pertains to the woodstock.

Polyurethene under the buttplate and on the inside, Tung Oil on the outside.

I use the Minwax furniture paste wax over my BLO'd stocks. Protects the wood out in the weather and from general handling.

Try this stuff.  It's great for wood stocks.
