I started out with a Standard M1A at a great price and started adding on the scope/mount/rings and accessories to make it so much more fun and see the limits. Well now its time to move onto the barrel, and I was wondering if maybe the Krieger match barrel is worth it? or is there something better? better of a deal? I appreciate any help! thanks!

Get it bedded before you do anything else. You're accuracy is limited by the one-size-fits all stock, not the barrel.

I would start off by having Fulton Armory tune your existing trigger to NM modifications...a good trigger in any firearm makes a night to day difference in accuracy potential. Then, if you're still not satisfied with the results, they can install a Krieger barrel for you.

Well as far as bedding, I was thinking of staying away from that since I will have to have it re-done at least a few times (can get costly being a college student). And I never thought of getting the trigger group done to NM level, I thought the 2 stage trigger blew my mind enough! thanks for all the help so far guys and keep it coming!

A decent bedding job, for practical accuracy purposes, should last a long time--about as long as the barrel does. If you were shooting competition and needed that final razor's edge, you'd probably get it skimmed about halfway through the barrel life.

Well im not really going to be doing any matches, since there isnt many in my area to begin with. But lasts as long as the barrel? thats alot of rounds! Looks like the only place around me I could have it done is Gander Mountain, so I should choose the glass bedding, or aluminum pillar? (i think glass).

Steel filled epoxy is the usual route. I'd send it off to an M14 specialist. Where are you at?
