Lets say you bug out with 15,000 rnds of ammo (no I don't have that much ).

What else besides a cleaning kit (and/or another rifle ) do you want to have with you?

Is the bolt assembly a maintenance item?

edit:

I found this online so far www.chestnutridge.com/images/inv/CPSPK.asp

Bolt is considered to be the weak point in the design so a spare is not a bad idea.  Tho I've never actaully seen a bolt fail.  Or heard of one fail.  One any self loader extractors, ejectors and firing pins seem to get the most abuse.

Best place to get a bolt assembly (or at least all the pieces to put a bolt assembly together)?

My M1 Carbine is a commercial (Iver Johnson)

Carbine parts are getting scarce and expensive.  Try Numrich for starters.  There are a number of specialist parts dealers out there.  I'd pick up a Shotgun News and start searching.  I don't know if USGI interchanges with Iver or not.  I think it does but can't remember for sure.

If you buy the parts separate you will need the bolt assembly tool.  Its not recommended, its REQUIRED.  Numrich had them last I checked.

Yes, Iver Johnson stuff is totally interchangeable with USGI. I have both.

Just do a google search for "m1 carbine parts", and it'll turn up some places with parts for sale.
