Ok I have a M1 garand on order from CMP.
The fun show is in town this weekend and I saw a very clean m1 carbine made by Plainfield for 325.
I know it is the civilian version but is it worth that price or would I be better off saving to get a service grade CMP m1?

Opions needed............ Yes I know the standard answer get both.

I did find a winchester made m1 carbine but the dealer wanted 625(ouch, at that price I'd get another garand).

I'd snap up a clean and solid Plainfield carbine for $325 if I saw one. Plainfields are considered the best commercial version of the carbine. They use USGI parts or parts that are completely interchangable with USGI.
