I just bought a new Socom 16 with a walnut stock.  It looks like I need the 2R adapter, because of the wood, but I am unsure which Harris bipod to buy.  I am concerned that , when folded, the ends will extend beyond the end of the barrel.  Any input will be appreciated.  I am focusing on Harris.  Is there a better choice?  Thanks.

The best bipod that I have installed on my high precision M1A is the unit from GGandG.
It is rock solid (mine pivots- but they also have a non-pivoting unit).
They have a special mount that replaces the front sling swivel with a 1913 mount that has a MIL-SPEC sling swivel on the mount.
I just checked it on my shortie- and it does not go past the barrel.
Once you use the GGandG bipod the Harris will look and feel pathetic.

My Scout was once in a walnut stock and I had a Harris mounted on a QD stud.

It is a Harris 1A2 Ultralight.

I'm sure the rubber feet will extend a little beyond the 16's MB when folded.
Does Harris offer a slightly shorter bipod?
