What is lose the screw on the windage knob tighten's the unit up. The screw on the other side hold's the peep hole tight so it don't free turn . If there is side to side play in the base Scott Duff book tells you how to peen the site base to tighten up the hole set up. The m-14 hand book by scott Duff is a most have for owner's of m14 rifle's Allso Different's book will be out in the next few day's it is a most have allso.

A good idea is to have extra rear sight cover springs and aperatures.  Sometimes installing a new rear sight cover spring can solve loose rear sight problems.
