Shoot a M1A with a muzzle brake without wearing hearing protection!!!!
My M1A has a Kali-legal muzzle brake and I made the mistake of firing without earplugs(I forgot to put them in!).   Holy Shit, I thought my ears were gonna start bleeding...my ears rang for about 4 hours afterwards...

Better question, atleast for my curiousity.....can you own M1a's in Cali freely or do they have to have been registered before the ban??

free and clear as long as you replace the FH with a brake. Otherwise it's considered an AW by the DOJ. Funnily enough, if you could find such a product, you could have a brake with a functional bayonet lug on it, and it'd be kosher in CA. |

I obtained in a trade with a guy who lives in Kalifornia-stan... I guess I finally need to get around to getting a USGI flash suppressor w/bayonet lug. Oh my God, that was a painful experience...

I was hunting with my ar10tc 16" w/ brake.
saw the deer, aimed, fired, HOLY SHIT, forgot my ears. Damn that was loud. Dead deer, but damn that was loud. don't think I'll forget to put the ears back on again. txl |

Not normally. Once in a great while I'll shoot my .308 bolt-gun or AR without ear plugs. Usually it's because I get in a bit of hurry and forget to put them in. They've got a pretty good blast, but nowhere near what that M1A puts out. I'll bet I don't forget my earplugs again anytime soon. |

Not to be a smart ass, but that is kind of a "No Shit" statement. why would anyone EVER fire a High powered weapon with out hearing protection on a range type enviroment regardless of what it had on the end of the barrel
