How are these thing? anyone have one and are they any good. They look really cool.

Not sure if this is a SOCOM 16 or not, but you gotta love the hi-cap mag in it, with the tac-light. Just looks nice.

I just fired one today at our annual manufacture rep day. It is an outstanding weapon. Very well balanced and easy to shoot. There was very little muzzle rise with very light recoil. I was pleasantly suprised. I now have one on my list.

Well just paid for mine and noticed that it had a commercial bolt. I hope it is well made (and the extractor as well). If not I'll be sending it off to be fitted with GI parts.

I have a Scout Squad witj commercial parts. I've been shooting it a great deal over the last couple weeks and have had no problems with it. I was surprised to see that the gun contains no GI parts but it looks like the new cast parts are okay.

Looks like the Scout Squad, but I'm not positive. The front sight is not the SOCOM's. That is an awesome pic!

I'll post a pic of my SOCOM w/EOTech tonight. I am thinking about getting the KAC rail system for it, that would be outrageous on the SOCOM

what does it do fo a the money a sagia 308 is $250 to $300 buck 16'' barrel same over all length same my groups 2" at 200 yards ak action yes I have a SA M1A1 loaded but this will not shoot any better than a 16" ak sagia 308 only cost $1200 buck more

I worked a Springfield Armory booth at the Duck Unlimited event here in Memphis. We shot the SOCOM model for 3 days straight! I already own a NM M1A, so I don't feel that the SOCOM is much different from the Scout model.

The obvious difference is that the flash suppression is part of the barrel and the stock is the black synthetic type. Everything that you know and love about the M1A design is there, but you get the added bonus of an overall lighter weapon.

Solid firepower, proven design, and bad ass looks ! 2 Thumbs up !

Are you talking about the muzzle break? If so, are you saying that one could not put on a flash suppressor? I've never seen this weapon in person.

I finally got a chance to shoot one . It didn’t shoot bad , but its overpriced for what it is .
I think I like the scout better . Plus I’d like to see GI parts .

Well, it's the same price as the scout squad (at least at my local weapons purveyor), and as far as having mags for the scout... They are the same mags for everything from late 50's M14's to the SOCOM. Can't go wrong.

Funny, the Scout Squad has both of those on it, A "proprietary muzzle stabilize" and a forward scope mount.

Cool, looks like they are putting the SOCOM sights on the scout squad. That's a good thing for all. I love the USGI sights but for shorter, faster shooting they are a little lacking after you get used to more modern sighting systems.

I added a scout mount to my Bush rifle, and topped it off with an Aimpoint/ARMS 22m68 mount. Very nice lowlight M1A, with very quick access to the irons if you need it. Better than the Eotech in this regard.

Yes, I also have an Aimpoint ML2 on a LaRue mount that works in that manner. It's a very nice setup, I just prefer the EOTech on that rifle for some reason I can't quite articulate.

I like the 308 Saiga too but it does not have a peep receiver sight, no flash hider and only 10 round plastic mags are available. The first too problems I was able to fix, but it was allot of work and added $70 to the cost. Though my home built Armscorp cost me about $1000, I like it better!
