If you need a tester, I am willing I have a M1A I once scoped and gave up on due to a poor mount. Still have the rifle and the scope and am willing to try again.

The KFS mount are really nice mounts we sale them for $154.78 in comparison to ARMS at $174.00 and the Smith that rang from $190.00 to $220.00. Right Answer! My old one was made by (for)armscorp and was aluminum.
I think it could not stand the ejecting cases and absolutely would not hold zero. I will give you a call tommorow, how late are you guys open PST? |

I don not have a M14 anymore so I would like people who were looking at getting a M14 mount to Test out the KFS mount and give me feed back on it. If they do not like them they can send them back for a full refund. I look like we have enough people to help test them.

I would like to test the bolt that hold's the mount to the side of the reciever
 i have a problem with them bolts! mine broke sorta no kidding do you have any bolts for a TSA mount ? i would buy a couple or three  |

I'd be happy to compare this mount, under controlled conditions, to my ARMS mount, using the same scope, of course. Please IM me with details and expected time/date of arrival. I will, in the public interest, waive my usual tester's fee.

I'd just be happy to know which mount is a good starting point for somebody who has really only shot through irons on an M1A. I'd hunt down a GI mount, but I have heard of mounting problems on current Springfield Armory receivers. Is that true? Any suggestions?

This is way I'm looking into the KFS mounts for the Guy out there that would like a good starter mount under a $170 range. The only M14 mounts I have recommended in the past were the ARMS 18 and the Smith. There are other good one out there but I have not used them. This mount looked like a good one for the price of $154.75. Hi raf, We are sold out of them at this time but we have a list of people that would like them. I if you would like we can put you on the list for the next order. But before we do that I would like to get some feedback for those who are testing them. Whatever scope mount you choose to use on your M14, read the free online M14 scope mount FAQ at www.imageseek.com/m1a Not all commercial M14 receivers will accommodate a side three point mount. No big deal, there are other mounts that you can use if your receiver has a horizontal groove too narrow and / or a misplaced bolt hole.

First Report:
Mount went on without any difficulty. I had to file the dovetail piece that replaced the clip guide a little as it comes oversize but not much. The instructions were a bit skimpy and could have used some illistruations but were understandable. When I went to shoot the first time, I had a problem:  I would get a stovepipe malfunction about every 5 rounds. The old piece of crap aluminum mount did the same thing. I decided to try and see if it was my rifle. BTW, the rifle works 100% without the mount. I replaced the extractor and have since fired 100 or so rounds with zero malfunctions. It was the original extractor and not the mount, the rifle is now 100% functional with the mount. Now that everything is tightened down, I was able to shoot this two inch eight shot group (at 100 yards) with 1990 Australian F-4 Ball.  Am I happy? Yes! Am going to try it at 300-400m this weekend as my Port 7.62 is due in tommorow. Initial reaction? A good mount for sure. I am very pleased with my purchase. The only thing I did different from the instructions was that I took an old copper penny and file it smooth. Then I put it between the front set screw and the reciever bridge to protect the finish on the receiver. |

 5 Shot group at 255M with 79 Portuguese Ball  She is still 100% functional with the new mount since I replaced my bad extractor. I am still quite pleased with the mount. |

I am a buy American kind of guy but many may not realize that KFS makes OEM sights for many high end US gun companies including a few in Ill and one in Texas off the top of my head. Da Keng is a super guy and while I hate the idea of sending my money to China I can honestly tell you (and it pains me to do so) that KFS holds tighter tolerance on thier sights than at least a few of the big name US manufacturers.
Not saying you should or shouldn't choose to spend you money with KFS, but I can say that being Chinese, at least in this case does not nessicarilly mean worse quality. YMMV |
