"M-1A" is a specific brand of  semi-auto M-14.

Everyone understands that if you say you have an M-14, 99% of the time its the civilian legal version of the M-14. Most of us do not own Springfield Armory "M-1A"s.

I don't own an "M-1A"; my rifle is not made by Springfield and is not labeled "M-1A".

I want to be free! End the bigotry now, and let's call these rifles what they are...

M-14 !

Wes....are you off the meds again?

Understand your point, but this forum also covers the M1 Garand and Carbine, so it should really be titled M1 & M14.  Unfortunitely the PC has to be addressed.

"M-1 and M-14"...I could live with that!

No meds here. I'm high on life.

I wouldn't mind the change.  I'm not a big fan of brand names anyway.  Then again, we all know what goes in this forum . . .

And while they're at it they can change AR-15 as that again refers to just a few of the many semiautomatic M-16 models sold.

Yeah!  I don't own an AR-15, I have a Sporter Match HBAR!  End the bigotry now!  The new website should be www.ar15typeriflemadebyvariousmanufacturerswithnoparticularbrandpreferenceandnomentionofM4incaseColtdecidestosueus.com

I don't own an M1, M1A or an M14, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night......
