I have seen both answers for the bolt used in SA. Some people said it is forged, some said it is casted. Who indeed knows the right answer?

It could be either. What are the markings (numbers) on the bolt and what is the serial number of the rifle (use "X" for the last three numbers) so we can figure out about how old the rifle is.

There are very, very few cast M1A bolts and I'm pretty sure they were all recalled by Springfield, Inc. so you're unlikely to have one.

Unless you replaced the extractor in your M1A bolt, however, it's got a good chance of being a substandard cast part.  Easy to replace as both the M14 and M1 use the same forged part.
