Hey guys, after finally raising the money to buy my mount from the sale of my scout mount, I am looking at getting an ARMS mount.  However, someone told me that ARMS mounts are crap and to spend the extra on the Smith Enterprise mount.  He was selling a GG&G mount for $275 at the time and wasn't trying to sell me his SE mount, he was just giving friendly advice to stay away from the ARMS.  What do you guys think?  

Did he give justification as to why ARMS mounts were "crap?"  They seem to have a pretty good following in the M14 community.  If you'll look at the forums over at battlerifles.com, you'll find that it's a split with half the folks loving their smith mounts and the other half swearing by the ARMS mount.  You'll also find there are folks perfectly happy with the SA inc scope mounts.  If you do find that you change your mind about an ARMS #18 for your M14, Fulton Armory is holding a sale until Christmas, so the #18 is around $130 + S&H.  Just my 2 cents.

This is the 1st time I ever heard that about the ARMS.I've got the smith and it's a rock solid mount.You won't go wrong with the ARMS either.

The ARMS#18 is a good mount I got me one on sale allso. Check out the ARMS#19 QD mount that goes with it it cost twice as much or the QD 30mm rings.I got ARMS#18 and the #19 mounts from fulton.
