Major "cool points" for appearence, but put one of those on a M14 and load it down with all the "toys" you'd find on a M4 and you'd have to be built like Schwarzenegger to carry it around for any amount of time...

It doesnt weigh that much, and it has a number of useful features, not to mention it's a rock solid mounting platform for both the Aimpoint and any precision optics you may want with the added benifit of clearing the ejection area more than most mounts do.

Looks like it would make for an easy, reversible Scout scope mount on an M1A.
Doubt I'd hang much else off it, would be heavy/awkward.
Looks like the iron sights would still be useable; that's a must, IMHO
