chromoly is just steel, but chrome lined barrel is steel, and just lined with chrome in the bore and chamber

I second that answer form avengeusa.
Also chrome lined barrels are easy to spot if you look at the chamber.It should be bright shiny chrome looking. The barrel should also say something like "TRW 7790190 12 63 BM or H-R 7790190 6-61 M.Just forward of the chamber. The new Spfld Inc. std. has chrome lined barrels I think but, look to make sure. |

only the standard M1a has a chrome lined barrel.
