Nice looking rifle! Kind of wished I went with the wood stock over the synthetic.

Fred's still has thousand of wood stocks at reasonable prices.  All complete with the hardware.  You'll need a dummy selector or something to fill the M14 holes, but that's it.  Synthetic is better but wood feels so much nicer.

You did right by getting an M1A, when only the best will do.
I took off the synthetic stock and put a boyds walnut stock on mine. Now I'm going to steel bed it.Gotta love that wood.
Now you can take your time to get a good scope mount (may I suggest an ARMS #18) rings and scope.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!

Just bought my second M1A.
It's a Supermatch (SA9802) with stainless barrel and walnut stock. I wanted the McMillan stock at first, but I fell in love with the wood.

Now I want a preban....somebody stop me!

Welcome to M1A land...you'll never turn back.  do NOT EVEN sweat getting a standard...they are GREAT guns!!!!  My standard is a sweet TRW/WRA combo that I LOVE.

 Enjoy that gun!!!!!

I wanted a standard for my first M1A.  The chromelined barrel was the key factor for me in the elimination all of the other models.

If I get to where I can outshoot a standard models barrel then I'll think about getting a better tube.

I'll relaly start enjoying it this Saturday at a WA group shoot.

Yeah,I really like those stocks from whamo camo too but they're pricey.

I also saw that they came down in price a bit (maybe do to slow sales).

I painted a couple of my own since I've done quite a few in the past.

I have 2 M1A's myself.I can't get enough of a good thing.

I'm going to start a new topic on the discussion post titled "Who has the most toys" and see if it gets interesting.

This has just been posted on general discussion board.

Maybe I'll see ya there.
