I have a chance to buy a 1989 folder for $600. I know the stocks are rare and I know what to look for to make sure its real. Is this a cant pass buy? Looks new possibly unfired.

The stocks alone can sell for over $500.

If it looks like the pics of all the other Ruger factory folding stocks you've seen, then it's real. Some guys said the Falcon stocks look the same, but they don't. (Has AR-looking grip and the buttstock pivot is different).

The sling swivel will be side-mounted on the gas block of a factory folding rifle, but I'd buy it even if an original Ruger folding stock was swapped onto it.

You could sell the stock for $600 and keep the rest of the rifle. I wouldn't do that but $600 is a smokin' deal!

For the whole rifle? That's what we in the horse trading business call robbing a man blind.

If it's just the stock, that's a decent price for a stainless one in excellent condition. A black one in excellent condition ordinarily goes for around 500.

I gave $250 for my factory folding stock Mini 14. I need to drag it out and find out what year it's from.

So I take it it's for the whole rifle? Be very careful if the seller isn't someone you know well. 600 for that rifle is beyond too good to be true.

Person to person buy. I picked it up this afternoon and it looks unfired. Not a mark on it. It did not have a magazine with it but still well worth the $600
