Neat rifles for a very good price. A couple of friends bought them, as they already had Mini-30's and a good supply of magazines.
I'm waiting for the left hand version to come out.
I don't know why guys buy Tula though, no matter what the platform.
I've tested most makes of both brass and steel cased ammo, and Tula is way down at the bottom of the list.
I've found rounds like Golden Tiger/Red Army and Silver Bear to be much more accurate, higher velocity, cleaner burning and better ignition out of non Communist weapons.
Tula is like the Budweiser of steel case ammo, almost every store in America sells it. If only they were as good at making ammo as they are at marketing.
Price is a factor for some, they see that Tula is $5.99 a box. Most other steel case is the same price, with maybe some like the zinc plated Silver Bear being a buck a box more.
Rather than buy a few boxes at a time from the big box store, look online and buy a case of what ever your carbine likes.
Geco makes a brass case, reloadable round that did very well in my testing out of three different x39 carbines, and can be had for as little as $8 a box.
Silver Bear really impressed me, putting 5 or 6 rounds touching at 100 yards. You get a few flyers, but none of these are exactly loaded with Match bullets.
For the price you have to expect some bullet inconsistencies.
$ different loads shot at the same target at 400 yards out of my x39 AR. I could have dropped them right on the aiming point with my Primary Arms 3 x prism using the holdovers from the excellent ACSS reticle, but wanted to see the drop at 400 using the 200 yard line on the scope.
Note the fist sized 400 yard group from the Silver Bear HP (black circles), not bad for $7 a box Russkie ammo:
