I have a factory Larue AR-15 SBR in 556 I bought maybe seven years ago. It is my only SBR and I am not really up on all the rules. Is it legal for me to buy other short uppers and put them on this lower without any additional paperwork? I am not wanting to get rid of the upper it came with I just want to get a 8-11” 300 upper and put a can on it and use it for shooting hogs at the ranch.

You can put any upper on it you want.  Just keep the original so it can be returned to it's factory setup.
