What?!?! BCM doesn't sell a 10.3" upper. Yeah, that's true. But, I had a pinned 14.5" SOCOM upper that I sent off to ADCO and had it cut to 10.3" and had the gas port opened to 0.070". I've got to say, of all the ARs and uppers I've owned and own, this is by far the smoothest and softest shooting upper I've ever shot. (Includes my current two 11.5" BCM uppers and a DD MK18 10.3".) I don't know if it's the slightly heavier SOCOM barrel profile (I think about 5oz heavier than a govt profile), or the gas port size, which I'm sure is smaller than my other factory SBR length uppers, or a combination. But I absolutely love this upper.

I know, cool story bro. But I thought I'd share. Omega is still in jail, but the blast shield gives an idea of the suppressor clearance it'll have.

How are you liking the 10.3 compared to the 11.5?

Dammit, I done spent enough money already this month.

I was, and still am, a big fan of the 11.5". My two BCM 11.5s consist of one with FSB and one without. Then I got the DD MK18 and thought it would be cool to have a 10.3 with an FSB. Man, it's probably in my head, but I feel like I can tell that thing is 1.2" shorter. So I really like the way it handles. Can't wait for the suppressor to come it. I predict this one gets the most use.

Hmm, that's tough. Since I have all of the above, I'll approach it this way. If I all of a sudden had no SBR uppers and only had the funds to buy/build one, which would be the first I'd get?

It would be the DD MK18, set it up similar to a Block II. Now, it's tough to say that since I like this 10.3 FSB so much, and it would certainly be second. My 11.5" with the low pro gas block and long rail is a mini-RECCE with a LPV. And my 11.5" with the FSB is irons only, not a suppressor host, set up like a Commando.

I have one of those elusive BCM 10.3 SBR's as well...

Very nice. I like the DD Omega on it.

Purchased a BCM 11.5" upper that I decided to have cut/threaded to 10.3". Just waiting to get the barrel back now. Pants are getting tight.

Now I need a 3 prong Surefire for it.
