I have the troy pdw on my 7.5 inch 300blk. It works great. But I dont like having to use the troy bcg. And you cant take the upper off the lower so quickly. Id say def not worth 450$. Stock with a magpul. Or wait for the new troy stock that allows a standard bcg.

I'm trying to do the same thing as you OP. I want a 8.5" .300 with a PDW type stock and maybe a 3x ACOG. I just filed for my SiCo Hybrid the other day specifically for this rifle.

I have a LWRC pdw stock and buffer tube. I like it a lot, has good cheek weld.

I have the troy setup on an 8.5" noveske navy. Works well even suppressed... However, I would feel more comfortable with a normal bcg and buffer. Its my wife's rifle and I am trying to get her to switch to the battle arms Dev. Vert pdw stock setup.

I have the Troy PDW stock and a LWRC UCIW.
If having the shortest possible rifle matters, then go with the PDW stock. The UCIW offers better cheek weld, a more comfortable stock, is lighter and is several hundred $ less. Over/under the FDE rifle has a slightly shorter barrel.

ETA: more worried about better balance than weight in general. I'm worried that with the can on the front, too little stock weight will make it front heavy |
