So as the title implies, I'm building a new SBR. This will probably the only one I build in 2016, and I'm purposing it as an SD/HD rifle. It will be chambered in 300blk and I already have the suppressor on order. The build is a 10" barrel and the suppressor going on it will be 7" (about 5.75 added length I believe).

I wanted to throw one of those PDW style stocks on it and was curious how those of you who have/have had them like them. Are they worth the $$? Better options out there?

I have the troy pdw on my 7.5 inch 300blk. It works great. But I dont like having to use the troy bcg. And you cant take the upper off the lower so quickly. Id say def not worth 450$. Stock with a magpul. Or wait for the new troy stock that allows a standard bcg.

Thanks! Anyone else?

I'm trying to do the same thing as you OP. I want a 8.5" .300 with a PDW type stock and maybe a 3x ACOG. I just filed for my SiCo Hybrid the other day specifically for this rifle.

Soooooo.... Tagged for answers/information.

I have a LWRC pdw stock and buffer tube.  I like it a lot, has good cheek weld.

mvb is longer.  Stick with the troy if you're going for the shortest setup.

I have the troy setup on an 8.5" noveske navy. Works well even suppressed... However, I would feel more comfortable with a normal bcg and buffer. Its my wife's rifle and I am trying to get her to switch to the battle arms Dev. Vert pdw stock setup.

This, and it has the same length collapsed or extended.

I have the Troy PDW stock and a LWRC UCIW.

If having the shortest possible rifle matters, then go with the PDW stock.

The UCIW offers better cheek weld, a more comfortable stock, is lighter and is several hundred $ less.

Over/under the FDE rifle has a slightly shorter barrel.

Thanks, that puts a better perspective on it

ETA: more worried about better balance than weight in general. I'm worried that with the can on the front, too little stock weight will make it front heavy

I like it, and I like the triangle. Two things came up - 1 is that I don't like the Amber as much as green. Also the DI sights will wash out from dark to light, which makes buIs a must. Good news is that shooting from dark to light where the RMR washes out, the sights are easy to pickup.

On a PDW you really need some parallax free dot as cheek weld isn't so hot.
