I recently bought a used contender pistol with a 10" octogan 357 barrel on it.
This weekend at a gunshow i picked up a 10" octogan barrel in 30-30 w/red dot for $160
I mounted the barrel and closed it up, now i can not get it open again. I have taken the hinge pin out
but it still will not come apart. Thinking back the ejector did not seem to be spring loaded out like my other barrel.
Could the ejector be hanging this up?
Is there some way to get these apart without completly diassembing everything?

usually have to half cock the hammer with the pin out to get barrel to release

TC will fix Hard opening Contenders for free You just have to contact them and send it in to them. Got mine back and it was great!!

Just call T/C customer service and my frame is under 190000 serial # so the barrels are different than newer frames.
They said i will have to take frame apart to get barrel off
For like $55 they will convert my frame to use new barrels and convert all my barrels to new style (2 or 200 extra barrels- same price)
So it looks like my contender will be going back to the mother ship.

That sounds like a good price.
